DON'T TEXT WHILE DRIVING

Texting while driving need to be stopped.Is it really important to stay connected during the duration of our days?
According to Ian Mulgrew, a journalist from Canada, most accidents are cause on distraction while driving which were contributed by the usage of cell phone.
Many drivers nowadays are having such demanding lives and never get enough time to finish them all in one day.
Thus, the driver’s sort out the dilemma by doing it on the road while driving. There are numerous law created to prevent distracted driving from happening, still, the acts did nothing to stop it.

No matter how old or young they are, driving while texting should not be under circumstances be performed on the road.
Using cell phone while driving will not only harms the pedestrians but the passenger you are carrying.
One reason why many people are against texting while driving is the number of car accidents it contributed yearly. While driving, people such as adult and teenagers are finding it hard to resist picking up their cellphone and send text to one and another.
The vibration and the ringing tone only contributed the urge to check the notification while driving.
As soon as the driver’s eye are in contact with the phone, their focus are shifted away from the roads.
According to a research done in 2009, 5 474 lives were lost while 448 000 people suffered injuries from car accidents related to being distracted by driving.
Car crashes are 4 times more likely to occur while the driver is using their phone over any other causes. Most people does not realize the severity of being careless while driving.
According to Bret Schulte, talking on cell phone is not as dangerous as texting these days.
While talking on the phone, it is easier to keep your eyes on the road, but when drivers start engaging text sending that is a different story.
Mainly because it is not possible to look in both directions simultaneously, in which the focus are drawn directly to the phone screens.
It’s difficult for all drivers, especially teenagers, to put down the cell phone and both their hands on the steering wheel, which may results in many car crashes.
Even with the majority people are backing up the law on the banning texting while driving.
Many people feel that staying connected to the outside world is much more beneficial that focusing on the road ahead, although it isn’t.
It can however, harms other pedestrian and other drivers who are doing nothing than reaching their destinations.
If people are serious about the causes of driving while texting, less vehicle accidents would happen every year and the roads would a safer place.
Drivers that compromised their focus on the phone instead on the road need to know the position they put others in as well as themselves.

This problem has affected the surrounding community with a positive impact or negative, depending on how the case is to utilize the facilities provided. Among the popular social media site is 'Facebook', 'Instagram', 'Blog', 'Twitter', 'WhatsApp' and 'Google+'.

The positive impact of social media sites, social media sites can help people to connect with anyone around the world in cyberspace, and so can communicate with fellow students or friends who have far away or have a long distance to communicate. In addition, social media can also be used as a place of communication and community leaders, businesses with product manufacturers and buyers.

Social media sites have also been used as a means to education, as example  like teaching and learning can be delivered more effectively when information is easily access  any time. Teachers have also used the social media site as a place to provide notes or information about the school to students by sending an e-mail or upside down details in the 'Facebook'.

In addition, the social media also useful for selling  the products to social media users because they have a wide market to sell the products. Social media sites are useful for some consumers who conduct business online, namely as a platform to market their products effectively and easily, providing the latest information on their products and make it easier for traders to correct errors on the product advertising.

Social media also can give knowledge, news, and current affairs. There can be little doubt that social media played a very important role in spreading knowledge, news and current affairs with their friends on social media sites. It shared that covers all things there is no restriction or limit. However, there are also disadvantages when it is shared, it is not necessary for public dissemination.

Furthermore, social media sites can also help parents to monitor the movements of their children but children must be approved request to be friends. In this way, parents must be wise to pretend to be another person. Therefore, parents may find out the latest status of their children and get to know their friends. As children usually prefer to share their problems with friends than parents, then the parents must have taken initiatives to monitor their children, and social media is one way.

 By using social media sites can reduce the productivity of resources each user. This was evident when the difficulties faced by employers in blocking workers from accessing social media sites. This can only be blocked by blocking such sites. However, with today's technological advances have facilitated such sites can be accessed using a mobile phone.

Social media sites have also been abused as a place to spread lies and spread the word that there is no validity to the extent caused chaos, false news and defamation throws. The negative impact of the latter is the leakage of information, each user must know that there are some things that can be shared with other people, but there are some things that need to be kept confidential. If things are difficult that can be shared negative impact and harm to the company, or government agency.

So by knowing the pros and cons of using social media sites, each user must be wise in handling their account. 'Add Friends' only to those who really known. Share status, and the pictures are only counted need to be uploaded, necessary steps before creating something and do not easily trust strangers.

ISU PERPADUAN KAUM DI MALAYSIA,

Berdasarkan artikel online oleh Dr Rahmat Ghazali mengenai Isu Perpaduan Kaum Di Malaysia, saya dapati beliau banyak menerangkan tentang kepentingan asimilasi dalam perpaduan kaum. Sebaliknya kita juga sedar bahawa ‘perpaduan kaum’ adalah pemboleh ubah penting dalam menentukan kestabilan politik, sosial, malah ekonomi. Malah, perpaduan kaum itu menuntut hubungan ‘empatetik’ sebagaimana disarankan oleh Dr Chandra.

Di dalam artikel ini juga turut menjelaskan bahawa Malaysia berusaha menyerapkan beberapa elemen penting perpaduan kaum yang digarap supaya pembangunan sosial, ekonomi dan infrastruktur dapat dicapai. Konsep masyarakat majmuk sebagaimana yang dilihat oleh Furnival, memperakui dan perbezaan norma, budaya dan adat resam sesuatu kaum minoriti. Malah dalam konteks Malaysia, kerajaan amat prihatin dan kaya timbang rasa sehingga toleransi dalam konsep pluralisme itu, tanpa disedari, sedikit-sebanyak telah menjadi penyumbang kepada benih-benih perkauman sesama kita.

Dalam konteks ini juga mengenai perpaduan kaum, Malaysia juga menghadapi banyak masalah kerana kepercayaan dan perbezaan agama tidak memungkinkan proses asimilasi berlaku. Bukan itu sahaja asimilasi dalam konteks budaya juga kurang mendapat sambutan kerana setiap kaum melihat bahawa budaya dan tamadun bangsa mereka masing-masing lebih dominan daripada yang lain. Orang-orang India melihat keagungan tamadun Indus yang bermula pada 2500 S.M. lebih agung daripada tamadun Melayu yang mereka lihat hanya bermula pada kira-kira lima ratus tahun dahulu (jika Kesultanan Melaka menjadi tanda aras). Kaum Cina pula melihat ketamadunan China yang bermula kira-kira 2000 S.M. di Peking jauh lebih hebat daripada tamadun Melayu. Banyaklah elemen-elemen ketamadunan ini yang boleh mereka rasionalkan untuk menyokong kelangsungan budaya mereka masing-masing.

Beberapa akta yang dapat memelihara keharmonian Negara iaitu Akta Hasutan telah menggariskan perkara-perkara yang menyentuh sensitiviti kaum di negara ini. Kecenderungan menghasut mencakupi perlakuan ataupun kecenderungan melakukan sesuatu yang membawa kebencian, penghinaan atau ketidaksetiaan kepada Raja atau kerajaan, membangkitkan perasaan rakyat untuk mendapatkan perubahan kerajaan yang memerintah dengan cara yang tidak sah, menimbulkan perasaan tidak puas hati di kalangan rakyat, menyebarluaskan perasaan dan niat jahat serta konflik antara kaum, mempersoalkan dalam apa jua bentuk atau sebarang perkara berkaitan Perkara 152, 153 dan 181 Perlembagaan Persekutuan (Akta Hasutan 1948).

Kesimpulan yang kita terdapat di dalam artikel ini ialah, semua masyarakat berganding bahu, ibarat ke bukit sama didaki, ke lurah sama dituruni insya-Allah perkara ini akan dapat direalisasikan lebih awal daripada jangkaan kita. Sudah terang lagikan bersuluh, terdapat banyak kepentingan dalam memupuk perpaduan kaum sama ada kepada masyarakat ataupun negara. Kita sememangnya tidak dapat menjangka apa-apa yang bakal berlaku pada masa hadapan kerana semua itu terletak pada kekuasaan Allah s.w.t. Oleh itu, kita perlulah sediakan payung sebelum hujan dalam mendepani masa depan yang menjanjikan cabaran di luar jangkaan agar kita tidak ditimpa malang seperti peribahasa Melayu, sudah terhantuk baru nak tengadah. Masyarakat sepatutnya mempraktikkan elemen bertolak ansur dan memperteguh kefahaman antara satu sama lain supaya dapat membina impian negara pada masa depan yang lebih gemilang. Natijahnya, semua rakyat perlulah mempertahankan semangat perpaduan di negara kita demi negara yang tercinta dan dapat mencapai impian Negara.

Beberapa kajian yang telah saya lakukan iaitu mengenai pada zaman pemerintahan British di negara ini, mereka mengamalkan  dasar pecah dan perintah terutama membiarkan penduduk  negara ini mengamalkan kegiatan ekonomi masing-masing mengikut komposisinya. Orang Melayu dibiarkan berada di kampung yang terlibat dalam bidang pertanian  dan penanaman padi serta menangkap ikan  manakala tenaga buruh di ladang diambil dari  negara India dan di kawasan lombong bijih timah tenaga imigran dari China diambil. Kesannya jurang perpaduan mula timbul disebabkan kegiatan ekonomi yang diusahakan di samping  tempat tinggal yang berbeza . Keadaan ini mengurangkan kebarangkalian penduduk Melayu , Cina dan India bersama-sama dalam satu lokaliti.Kesan jangka panjang keadaan ini ialah wujudnya jurang pemisahan antara kaum.

Akhir kalam, keamanan negara ini sangat penting dalam usaha negara ini menginjak menjadi sebuah negara maju menjelang tahnun 2020. Antara faktor utama kejayaan ini boleh dicapai ialah melalui situasai keamanan dan kesejahteraan negara sentiasa terjamin atau tidak boleh dikompromi oleh sebarang faktor lain.

 Berdasarkan peristiwa  13 Mei 1969  kita wajar  memperkuat semula perpaduan kaum di negara ini agar semua anggota masyarakat dapat hidup dalam keadaan aman dan harmoni di negara yang kita cintai ini. Dalam nada yang sama kita seharusnya memahami dan menghayati peristiwa sejarah negara ini yang terjajah sekian lama dan memerlukan kekuatan segenap sudut bagi menjamin penjajahan ke atas negara ini tidak lagi akan berlaku .
