
FEVER ATTACK -HYPHOID FEVER- Department of Health Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur (JKWPKL) has
received notification of seven (7) cases of typhoid fever.
Typhoid fever is a bacterial infection that affects some
organs of the body that contagious, as well as serious and life-threatening if
left unchecked.

Officer Assistant, Muhammad Hafiz Rosli said the most prevalent way to avoid being infected is wash hand with
soapy water is the best way to control infection before eating or preparing food and after
using the toilet.
“ I
encourage people to carry an alcohol-based hand sanitizer for times when water
isn't available this is because to harm the bacteria so it can reduce the
infection”, he said.
Symptoms of initial infection usually can be cured within
two weeks but without treatment, one in
five cases of typhoid can be fatal temporarily survivors may suffer from
physical or mental problems.
That's why typhoid fever should be treated with
antibiotics as soon as possible because typhoid cases it is serious require
hospitalization and intravenous antibiotics.

added, contaminated drinking water is a particular problem in areas where
typhoid fever is endemic so people suggest to drink only bottled water or
canned or bottled carbonated and other beverages.
“Get vaccination if you that area
that suffering from typhoid fever and get the doctor advices about the more
detail”, said Hafiz.

semester 3 from University Malaya, Nurain Ismail said that steaming hot foods are best and avoid buying
food from street stall because it more likely to be contaminated.
Typhoid fever is spread by contact with the feces and
urine of infected people and it is common disease in countries that do not
observe proper hygiene, where human waste can contaminate sources of drinking
and food easily.
Ministry of Health wants to remind the public to always give high
attention to the cleanliness of food and drink are taken to avoid infection and get early treatment if experiencing any
symptoms of typhoid fever in order to avoid complications.
The Ministry of Health is also working hard to carry out
preventive measures to prevent and control the spread of this disease. Any updates will be notified from time
to time.
